The guests attending the event represent quite a few local nonprofit organizations, small businesses, large corporations, events industry businesses, and others who are looking for diverse, fresh, vetted and innovative event providers. OUR STORY
It started during an early morning meet-up in 2018 where a couple of entrepreneurs with multiple intersections who love their work in the events industry + wanted to work together with more folks that were both aligned with values and identity. We found it both heartening and sustainable to show up as professionals knowing that we were connected by complimentary ethos, being able to honor the diversity of industry peers AND our respective, collective clients. We wanted more of those vibes... and as the saying goes, if there isn't a seat at the table, bring some more chairs. We're Seattle event professionals, so the tables will be pretty, folks will be met and accommodated. With certainty, it will be a fabulous time.
The values: inclusion, connection, community, equality, care. The identities: women, bipoc, lbgtqia+, immigrants, disabled, etc. The conversation continued, what does it look like if we host an event that wasn't just another networking opportunity, but a showcase of a bunch of small businesses, both freshly established and more seasoned? A celebration of who we are, a demonstration of what we offer, a way to introduce one another to our clients and networks... and all while having fun? We dared exercise our superpowers: radical care, authentic connection and stellar service. We dared to extend invitations to partners, to invest in ourselves, in each other, collaborate and cross-promote with a multitude of small businesses. It was brilliant, unconventional, and so, so natural to show up in solidarity. It offered a chance for us to dream and demonstrate what we want to do next in our businesses. To collectively curate, design and foster what feels aligned, while shifting culture and building community... amazing.
In February 2020, Event Fresh was launched, and then swiftly went for a good, long slumber. In 2024 it was revived with so much energy there were two showcases in the calendar year.
OUR EVOLVING VISION
Today, each of these value and identity continues to be threatened in today's political landscape. After three iterations of Event Fresh, we continue to embody these values, continue to challenge ourselves and have conversations with each other around what support looks like. Today, we continue to stand in solidarity, in resistance... against inequality, injustice, and hate. We share a rally call for inclusion, collaboration, connection, celebration, creativity, mutualism and community care. We reflect those values while standing on business and contributing to + celebrating Seattle unique and beautiful event's industry. JOIN US, on December 3rd, 2025 at Ederer Hall in Sodo - where our rally cries can be felt together, in service to community, in service to one another as we amplify our businesses and brands, and find joy within the resistance.
WHO WE'RE SHOWING UP FOR + HOW WE SHOW UP
Our guests include a beautiful mosaic of local nonprofits, businesses of all sizes, including corporations, and event industry innovators all hungry for something fresh, something meaningful, something rooted in values and joy. Event Fresh is a container for the community of folks ready to appreciate a solid party and get to know a diverse small business event pros in community serving up events of many sizes: milestone parties, weddings, non-profit + corporate events, galas, fundraisers.
Whether you're a development person, an executive assistant, an advisor to a start-up, board member of a non-profit, a part of a couple getting married, or a part of the event industry (aspirational, new and seasoned alike!) or just here to hype small diverse business. . . there's space here to connect, relax, be activated and enjoy a party. You belong here, where you can get to know your next event partner, a new industry vendor ... and maybe leave with a new collaborator or "friendor".
Event Fresh has amplified the business and brands of 60+ small businesses within the event industry with ownership intersections inclusive of woman, queer, immigrant + bipoc owned as well as businesses that are fierce allies. We are in it together. We are showing up for one another, as event professionals. Pooling our resources, our energies, our time and our talent to create an event that amplifies one another and elevates the event industry. Together, we can go far... and we must, especially in this social and political climate.
